Skip Green Quartet featured at Summer Jazz Festival

The Skip Green Quartet is the featured group for the Oak Park Arms’ Summer Jazz Festival at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The quartet performs works by Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Billie Joel, the Beatles and Stevie Wonder.

Skip Green is recognized as one of the top jazz performers in Chicagoland. Other quartet members are John Logan on bass, David Jennings on drums, and Dick Daugherty on the saxophone, clarinet and flute.

The Summer Jazz Festival is free Monday night jazz concerts. The public, friends and family are welcome to one or all of the concerts taking place. The next concert is Aug. 22 with the Skip Green Quartet.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
