Oak Park illustrator shows the art of the body

Pat Thomas of Oak Park is one of the lucky people. At the age of 16, she discovered medical illustration, a profession that would make use of her avid interest in biology and her well-honed artistic abilities.

She's still at it, and finds plenty of creative satisfaction in her career.

Through May 8, some 20 examples of her work will be on exhibit at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community, where her father, a retired artist who just turned 90, lives.
