Senior Olympics
The events consist of ring toss, bean bag toss, horseshoes, egg walk, parachute throw and creative relay races. The Olympics begin with a community “Walk & Roll” (roll because of walkers and wheelchairs) followed by a light brunch and key note address about the importance of fitness at all ages. Past speakers include, Monroe Saffold, Mr. America 1990. The residents love the friendly competition and train in the daily exercise classes offered at the Oak Park Arms. The medal ceremony, at which gold, silver, and bronze are awarded in each event, is a grand highlight of the day. |
