Halloween Extravaganza

Blake Adams participates in the parade with a little help from his proud grandmother, Pat Thomas, at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community Halloween Extravaganza.The public enjoyed an intergenerational choral performance on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community, 408 S. Oak Park Ave, Oak Park.

Apple-themed Open House

Open House caramel applesThe Oak Park Arms Retirement Community, 408 S. Oak Park Ave., hosted  an Apple-themed Open House on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The first annual Pie-Baking Contest took place at the open house and celebrity judges included: Chief of Police Rick Tanksley; Battalion Chief Wiley; Village Clerk Teresa Powell; Oak Park Arms Queen 2011 Ruth Palmer; Oak Park Arms King 2008 John Heflin.

Senior Olympics 2011

Mr. America at the Oak Park Arms Senior OlympicsThe Oak Park Arms hosted the annual Senior Olympics on Saturday, Sept. 24, featuring a keynote address by Monroe Saffold, Mr. America 1990, and fitness games for seniors. Games included: A community “Walk & Roll” (roll because of walkers and wheelchairs), ring toss, bean bag toss, horseshoes, egg walk, parachute throw and creative relay races.

2010 Senior Prom

Through the Looking Glass was the theme of the 31st Annual Seniors Senior Prom.  Congratulations to Clair and Fauntie Wilcoxin our new King and Queen.  Sam Bloblaum was the award winning scholarship winner.
