Apple-themed Open House
The first annual Pie-Baking Contest took place at the open house and celebrity judges included: Chief of Police Rick Tanksley; Battalion Chief Wiley; Village Clerk Teresa Powell; Oak Park Arms Queen 2011 Ruth Palmer; Oak Park Arms King 2008 John Heflin. In addition, there was a health lecture titled, “An Apple a Day,” live music by Farmers Market Musicians and Ultrasound Barbershop Quartet, pumpkin painting, and station to make your own Taffy Apples. The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
