Home Health Services

Oak Park Arms works with several Medicare certified home health agencies. When health conditions warrant skilled care, residents’ can receive services in the comfort of their own apartments with assistance from a home health agency of their choice. Physicians agree that most patients recover sooner and more comfortably in the familiar surroundings of their home

Typical services include:

Skilled Nursing Care

  • Initial and periodic nursing assessment of the patient and caregiver
  • Medical/surgical care, bedridden and terminally ill patients (catheter care, decubitus care, tracheostomy care)
  • Diabetic instruction and management
  • Medication management (chemotherapy, hyperalimentation, intravenous antibiotic therapy)
  • Follow-up surgery care (wound care and dressing changes, ostomy care, amputation care)
  • Specialty wound care treatment (wound vacuum therapy)
Physical Therapy
  • Therapeutic modalities for relief of joint and muscle pain
  • Exercises to help restore muscle function and range of motion
  • Family and caregiver education with safety training and a home exercise plan
  • In-home ultrasound therapy for rehabilitation
Occupational Therapy
  • Instruction in self-care (dressing and bathing), homemaking, or learning to live more fully with a disability
  • Safety assessment of the home environment
Speech Therapy
  • Help with speech and hearing problems caused by stroke or other medical occurrence
Anodyne Therapy (Monochromatic Infrared Photo Energy or MIRE™)
  • Help for patients diagnosed with pain and poor circulation in their extremities caused by cardiovascular disease, chemotherapy, vitamin deficiencies, metabolic diseases, anemia, infectious diseases, etc.
  • Help to increase circulation, reduce pain and/or decrease the need for medication
Medical Social Worker
  • Assistance to residents and families with personal, family, work, financial and other challenges that may occur as a result of illness or disability
Medical Supplies and Equipment
  • Procurement of hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, and diabetic and other medical supplies
