Music Club: April Love

musical noteThe Oak Park Arms Music Club (record spinning club) will feature “April Love,” the music of singing legend Pat Boone, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The event is a salute to the fourth month in celebration and anticipation of Easter, Passover and the beginning of another baseball season in Chicago.

An American singer, actor and writer most successful in the 1950s and early 1960s, Boone has sold more than 45 million albums, appeared in more than 12 Hollywood movies and has had 38 Top 40 hits.

During the late 1950s he was the second biggest charting artist, and he still holds the Billboard record for spending 220 consecutive weeks on the charts with at least one song each week.

In addition, Boone began hosting “The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom” at the age of 23 and has been a bestselling author. He is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and continues to perform and speak as a television personality, motivational speaker and conservative political commentator.
