We program hundreds of events and activities for seniors each month. Residents experience professional musicians, local elected officials, award-winning authors, local artists, and much more – all brought conveniently to The Oak Park Arms.
Noteworthy, the award-winning show choir from Oak Park River Forest High School, performed for seniors and the community at the Oak Park Arms on Friday, November 17.
Scratch Ensemble of Oak Park presents a staged reading of “The Cemetery Club” at the Oak Park Arms Senior Living. The reading is directed by Denise Smolarek, and the play features four women and one man.
John Steiner’s Steinway grand piano has been donated to the Oak Park Arms Senior Living by resident Betsy Davis. Steiner was the world’s foremost authority on early Chicago jazz. He built an exceptional personal collection of approximately 35,000 recordings, sheet music, and newspaper articles. Today, his collection is housed in the Chicago Jazz Archive of the University of Chicago Library.
Oak Park Arms celebrated 45 years of senior housing and innovation. At one point, Oak Park Arms became the training ground for senior living managers from more than a dozen communities across the country. Innovation and improvement are a constant.
The terms “palliative care” and “hospice” are frequently misunderstood. Marlene Wilson, RN, BSN, of Promedica Hospice will present a talk titled, “What is the Difference between Palliative Care and Hospice Care?” on Tuesday, August 29. The presentation is free, and the public is welcome.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office will present a program for seniors titled, “Consumer Fraud Prevention Tips for Seniors,” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Oak Park Arms. RSVP required – Call 708-386-4040.
A free outdoor concert and celebration to mark the Oak Park Arms’ 45th Anniversary in Senior Housing will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 12. Live music will be provided by Swing Set, an 18-piece orchestra. Join us!
“Chicago” Ed Parzygnat will present a tribute concert as Elvis Presley from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, at a free outdoor concert at the Oak Park Arms Senior Living
