My partner's grandmother lives here, and he went to go visit her recently. She's been having such a great time and she has her own apartment and is able to have her own autonomy, and he was able to visit and they were able to lend him a space to stay for a few days. All in all, the staff are great, the environment's great, and there are community events and overall it's a very enriching space. Five stars.

I cannot walk but I get around on a stand up rollator. The OPA is accommodating with wide doors and ramps. And better still with the empathy of the residents.

Oak Park Arms is a great choice for independent living.
The staff are always gracious and supportive.
Lots of options for activities.
The facility is always clean and safe.
I have independence to shop and go to fantastic restaurants in the Oak Park area, and numerous churches all close by.
We have lectures, local musicians at the Arms weekly.
My apartment is spacious and I appreciate the housekeeping staff who take care to keep my place clean and inviting.
I’m so pleased to call Oak Park Arms my home.

Kind, compassionate, accomodating, understanding, selfless....Camille accomodated my father at short notice...I was undoubtedly impressed, and was even more appreciative the way they treated my father and his situation once he was there. I wholeheartedly recommend OPA for anyone considering placing a family member or needs a nice respite stay.❣️❣️

The Oak Park Arms has been a truly wonderful place for my mother, Roze, during her time in independent living. The staff there are not just professional—they are genuinely caring, attentive, and compassionate. From the front desk to the nurses and aides, everyone treated my mother with kindness and respect, which gave our family peace of mind every single day. The environment is warm, welcoming, and vibrant, making it clear that the residents are deeply valued. It’s hard to express how comforting it was to know she was in such good hands.

A special thank you to Danielle Seals and Veronica, who lead the Adult Day Care program with exceptional dedication and heart. Also a special Thanks to Miss Dorothy in the Kitchen and Dining room. She made sure mom had her meals delivered on time and always checked in on her. Overall, They made sure my mother felt engaged, supported, and safe, and their care brought so much joy to her daily routine. We truly wish we could keep her at The Oak Park Arms, but unfortunately, they do not offer memory care assisted living, which she now needs. It’s difficult to leave such a supportive and loving community, and we are incredibly grateful for all they’ve done for our family. From Top to Bottom, Thank You to EVERONE at Oak Park Arms. We will always have you guys in our hearts as a Warm, and Loving place to be.

For 7 years, the Oak Park Arms has been a dependable home to my friend Gloria Alfano. More recently she has received great, personal service from Seals & Steingard Home Services in managing several of Gloria's day to day activities. A great asset.

At Home at the Oak Park Arms

What stronger recommendation can I offer than I could be happy living at the Arms? I was enthusiastic about my Mother’s transition to the Arms in the Fall of 20204 and have had my positive expectations affirmed.
My motivation for her move was to introduce opportunities for socialization in contrast to the isolation of her single family home. Programs at the Arms are multifaceted and I regularly see flyers highlighting interesting activities posted in the elevators when I visit.

Many valuable on-site services are available. My Mother’s primary needs are met without leaving the building! Continuity of her residence at the Arms is supported by affiliated agencies on location. Personal care assistance (Seals & Steingard) can be arranged as her needs increase. Medical monitoring and therapies (Interim Healthcare) can be delivered in her unit. The Arms provides more than the basic amenities of housekeeping, meal plans and salon convenience. An added delight are the preschoolers participating in the daycare program - an intergenerational shot in the arm.

The atmosphere at the Arms is warmly appealing. This sense is echoed at all levels by the Staff, the Staff, the Staff (Welcoming, Attentive, Supportive) and the Residents, the Residents, the Residents (Diverse, Interesting, Helpful). This community collectively contributes to my Mother’s experience of feeling safe, engaged and comfortable.

I was immediately made to feel at home here from my very first visit. Marzena Ananbeh, Office Administrator, worked with a very welcoming manner and is so adept in her work--especially competent, too. Marzena welcomed me and I now feel like Oak Park Arms is my home! Thank you!

Thank you to the outstanding staff of the Oak Park Arms and Seals and Steingard Home Care Services. While my brother, John, was at the Oak Park Arms they performed wellness checks and helped with pain medication and other supportive services after he had surgery. In particular, Danielle Seals was very helpful in offering guidance to our family in navigating insurance and other medical matters. Her helpfulness resolved some issues that had been pending for months. The care and comfort provided by staff helped John recover, and relieved anxiety for our family during a difficult time.Thank you!

Mom enjoyed her time at Oak Park Arms the 2 years she lived there. She was able to socialize and make friends, enjoying special events, and regular game night and afternoons with her fellow residents.
The only thing I would say from a caretaking perspective that I think needs to be rethought is the lack of frequent checking on their residents.
When Mom first moved in, they regularly called to check-in on the residents and they stopped doing it after the residents supposedly voted against it in a meeting. While I realize that is their choice, I would also suggest they make it an optional thing where the residents can ask to be (or at the family's request) regularly checked-in on if they like. It certainly made me feel like she was being well-cared for.

My Mother lived at the Oak Park Arms for 6 years. She loved being there and truly came to think of it as ‘home’. She loved the staff and residents very much. The care and support she got there were tremendous. I would recommend OPA to anyone wanting a warm and comfortable space for their loved one.

We moved my mother into Oak Park Arms in 2021 when she was 93 years old. During the subsequent three years, the staff at Oak Park Arms was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about my mother’s well-being. If not for the need for memory care services, we would still have my mother living there. I owe a debt of gratitude to the Executive Director, Moses Williams, Danielle Seals, Brittany Smith and the many ladies who went above and beyond in seeing after my mother. I will forever be grateful.

Our mom lived at OPA for nearly 4 years, starting on the independent care floor before moving to assisted care for the last 18 months or so. The staff was consistent (low turnover) and very caring. I did a lot of research and found OPA to be the most value for the dollar, and we were happy with their services. I will add that we are a very involved family so that is also what leads to successful caregiving (lots of engagement).

My parents have been very happy in this wonderful community. It is a very unique place. My parents have enjoyed the community activities, the intergenerational offerings with the daycare on-site, the on going learning classes, chair yoga, and the on-site library with large print books. The employees are all very kind and seem to actually enjoy their work. I am so pleased that my parents have found such a wonderful place as their retirement home.

I've recently moved into the Oak Park Arms and the residents and staff here are amazing. I really enjoy the variety of activities that they offer. Moving into the arms was the best decision I've made.

Best thing I ever did was sell my condo and move in here. My apartment is just right. The staff is wonderfull and the activities never end. This is senior independent living that is great! I recommend you downsize now and move in. It's close to everything.

This is a great place for senior living bc it's got a lot of what they'll need all in one spot, from haircutting to a podiatrist. And it seems very sociable and a vibrant place for senior citizens. Prices are better than most places.

What I like mostly about Oak Park Arms is the friendly environment & the members of the Peronnel Staff are always available to answer any questions we might have. Also, the Maintenance Crew is always available to correct anything that needs attention in our apartments! I highly recommend Oak Park Arms to anyone
in need of a safe place for a Senior.

My brother has been a resident at the Oak Park Arms for a few years. Will we are so grateful to the entire staff who assists Tom, we want to specifically single out Renee, who has been exceedingly helpful and kind in helping Tom to continue to live an independent lifestyle. The Arms is an amazing place for seniors!

My Mom has been attending the adult day program for about 6 months and she really enjoys it. The facility is very clean, the staff is very attentive, friendly and patient. She is crazy about Veronica, the staff person that runs the day program and she has nothing but good things to say about the director Danielle. I feel so comfortable leaving her there. We are considering using the facility for respite care when we travel.

I have had a good friend and favorite aunt as residents at Oak Park Arms - one in assisted living and one in independent living. First and foremost, the administrators and staff of OPA truly care about their residents, and from that true caring flow the many great services provided by OPA to their residents. I highly recommend OPA.

My mom has been here for nearly 4 years. I am so grateful to the wonderful people who work and manage the arms. It is super clean and the lobby area always feels positive. God bless everyone who serves the elderly!
