The Oak Park Arms Music Club (a record spinning club) will present ‘Moon Songs’ at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave.
Whether it’s a harvest moon, blue moon or Moon River, the inspirational ball of green cheese will be saluted by the likes of Andy Williams, Henry Mancini and a bevy of other artists who find our neighboring asteroid inspirational.
Host Dan Kane will spin the oldies in celebration “Moon Songs.” The public is invited to this free event.
A resident of Oak Park, Kane is a genealogist and radio announcer. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA, and is the founder and sole proprietor of Extended Family Ties. In addition to leading the monthly music club at the Arms, he is also the host of the “Polish Film Festival” and led last year’s popular film series, “You be the Critic.”
The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information call 708-386-4040.
