Directed by Andrew Davis and starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, this American thriller was based on the 1960s television series of the same name, created by Roy Huggins.

When a well-respected Chicago surgeon, Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford), finds out his wife was murdered in her home, he is arrested and charged. He is tried, convicted and sentence to death. While on the way to prison, the bus he is on crashes and Kimble seizes the opportunity to escape.

Now labeled a fugitive, Kimble is hunted by Deputy Samuel Gerard and his team. Meanwhile, Kimble starts his own investigation to find out who really killed his wife and lures Gerard and his team into it also.

The film grossed almost $369 million when it premiered in theatres in 1993 and was considered a major financial success in comparison to its $44 million budget. The movie was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

The film received mostly positive reviews and has a rating of “universal acclaim” from Metacritic with a score of 86 out of 100 based on 10 critic reviews. Roger Ebert named it the fourth best film of 1993, and it was listed by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 most thrilling American films.
