The SlingBlade Rockin’ Blues Band will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The show is free and open to the public.
SlingBlade was formed by lifelong devotees to the genre of blues / rock music. The band has covered for artists such as Muddy Waters, The Animals, Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Los Lobos, and Van Morrison.
SlingBlade has played the 2011 and 2013 Milwaukee Summerfest and at many local venues including Carlucci, FitzGerald’s side bar, Murphy’s Pub, Rory’s Music Café, Chicago City Limits, Mike & Denise’s, The Elbo Room, Friendly’s Tap, Tiger O’stylies, Harlem Avenue Blues Club, The Brauerhouse, Ki’s Steakhouse, Fitzgeralds main stage.
SlingBlade has also opened for top artists including Lonnie Brooks, The Spinners, Dark Star Orchestra, Hot Rocks, and Kashmir.
